The entire exercise is a masterpiece in suspense and terror, aided by John Williams' classic Oscar winning score. You can't help but get chills whenever those familiar notes begin, indicating the shark's impending appearance. Spielberg pulls out all the stops, proving with only his second big-screen feature that he was already quite adept at taking audiences on a cinematic thrill ride.
