Iron Monkey DVD Movie

Iron Monkey Description: "Iron Monkey weaves fact and legend in the tale of a daring thief who uses his ill-gotten gains to aid the poor and dispossessed. When the local governor blackmails a renowned kung fu master into catching the thief by threatening the master's son, the stage is set for danger, conflicted loyalties, and some of the most breathtaking action sequences ever filmed.

Donnie Yen stars as Wong Kei Ying, a master of Hung Gar style boxing who lived in the mid-1800's. His son, Wong Fei hung, was one of the most famous martial artists in China. Movies, books, and even operas have elaborated on this story for Chinese audiences over the past hundred years. Both Wong Kei Ying and his son are legendary heroes.

Iron Monkey, the chronicle of a mythical episode in the younger Wong's childhood, imagines how this father/son bond would be tested if Wong Kei Ying were forced to use his kung fu against equally skilled and deadly foes to protect his son. The epic final battle, with the combatants balancing on flaming poles, will serve to remind viewers of the reason why Hong Kong movies are the best action movies in the world."
